About Shri Gajanan Maharaj Sansthan
“Carrying forward the divine vision of Sant Gajanan Maharaj since 1908 — devotion, selflessness, and universal service.”
Rooted in the soil of Shegaon, Maharashtra, Shri Gajanan Maharaj Sansthan represents one of India's most revered and disciplined spiritual institutions. Guided by the eternal chant “Gani Gana Ganat Bote”, the Sansthan welcomes millions of devotees each year with selfless hospitality, Mahaprasad, and Bhakta Niwas facilities.
Our Sacred Heritage & Genesis
The path from an enigmatic saint's spontaneous grace in a humble village to India's most immaculate pilgrimage benchmark.
Divine Manifestation in Shegaon
Shri Maharaj first appeared in Shegaon outside the house of Bankatlal Agarwal, picking leftover grain crumbs—teaching by example that no food is unworthy and the Supreme Soul pervades all creation. His quiet majesty immediately transformed the dust of Shegaon into holy ground.

"Gani Gana Ganat Bote" — The individual soul is none other than the Universal Divine.

Founded in Maharaj's lifetime to guarantee unbiased public service for future generations.
Establishment of the Public Sansthan
Recognizing the rapid surge of seekers, Maharaj blessed the establishment of an administrative trust led by Bankatlal, Hari Kadu, and local devotees. The founding deed mandated that every rupee given belongs to the pilgrims, with zero exploitation or commercialization.
Sanjivan Samadhi & Eternal Presence
Shri Maharaj entered into eternal Sanjivan Samadhi on the auspicious Rishi Panchami. Promising to remain ever-present in spirit to answer sincere devotion, the sacred underground sanctum became a fountainhead of quiet solace, healing, and spiritual rejuvenation for millions.

The Samadhi Mandir sanctum remains the devotional heartbeat of western Vidarbha.

Renowned nationwide as an unassailable benchmark of temple cleanliness and administrative ethics.
A Modern Citadel of Seva
Today, the Sansthan operates ultra-clean Bhakta Niwas lodging complexes, the 350-acre Anand Sagar spiritual park, automated mega-kitchens preparing pious meals, and state-of-the-art educational and medical clinics—serving pilgrims with zero fee inflation.
The Four Sacred Pillars of Seva
Every service at Shegaon is rendered with meticulous discipline, absolute cleanliness, and profound spiritual humility.
1. Mahaprasad & Bhojan Kaksha
In accordance with Maharaj's reverence for anna (food), the Sansthan operates automated, spotless mega-kitchens. Freshly prepared, satvik meals comprising pitla-bhakri, rice, pulses, and sweets are distributed without discrimination. Over 10,000+ souls are fed daily in absolute orderliness, cleanliness, and silence.
2. Sacred Accommodation (Niwas)
Offering thousands of impeccably maintained rooms across Shegaon (Bhakta Niwas 1 to 6, Anand Vihar, and Visawa) as well as branches in Pandharpur, Trimbakeshwar, and Omkareshwar. Rooms feature continuous water supply, sanitized bedding, solar water heating, and a noise-free, reverent environment.
3. Anand Sagar Spiritual Park
A 350-acre spiritual retreat engineered to replenish the yatri's soul. Built on reclaimed arid land, it incorporates an artificial lake, profound meditation centers, recreations of sacred Indian shrines, lush botanical foliage, and open-air amphitheatres honoring spiritual masters across faiths.
4. Devotee Welfare & Medical Seva
Pilgrim care extends outside the temple gates. Free non-stop bus shuttles commute devotees between Shegaon Railway Station and all Niwas complexes. The Sansthan also manages high-level specialty dispensaries, organizes rural cataract and healthcare camps, and runs polytechnic colleges.
